Since graduating, I earned my BS in Kinesiology in 2015 and my Master’s in Athletic Training in 2017 from the University of Houston. I then moved to Fort Worth to complete a post-professional residency program in orthopedic rehabilitation with Texas Health Sports Medicine. Following this, I pursued a PhD in Kinesiology, Exercise Nutrition, and Health Promotion at Baylor University, which I successfully completed in 2021.

In the same year, I married my husband, Blake, and we moved back to Fort Worth, where I began my first full-time faculty position at TCU, serving from 2021 to 2024. In August 2024, we returned to Houston after I accepted a position as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Houston.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, friends, and our two fur children: Graycie, a 5-year-old cat, and Shadow, a 3-year-old Australian shepherd. As Houston natives, my husband and I are thrilled to be back in the area, reconnecting with old friends and spending more time with family.

School Story:

My time at KHS was unique, as we were one of the last classes to attend the 9th-grade campus (now KPHS). Even more interesting, we shared that campus with both KPHS freshmen and sophomores that year. I was a proud member of the tennis team and was thrilled to be moved up from the freshman team to the JV team. This promotion meant early morning drives to KHS for practice, followed by bus rides back to the 9th-grade campus for classes.

One particularly memorable (and slightly unfortunate) incident occurred when a few of my teammates and I missed the bus back to KPHS. After some stern—but loving—words from our coach (Love you, Coach E!), she graciously drove us back to campus herself.

I made some amazing friends during my time at KHS and look back on those years with gratitude and fond memories.

Best KHS or Kingwood Memory:

Daily carpool rides with Lindsay Caban in my blue 2010 Ford Mustang were always an adventure. With music blaring way too loud for such an early hour, we made every morning memorable. After practice, the fun continued with trips to Sonic and plenty of other shenanigans that added to the laughter and good times.

If grew up in Kingwood, list elementary and middle schools attended:

Greentree Elementary (Grades 3-5 after moving from Waxahachie, TX), Creekwood Middle School

KHS Clubs, Sports, Leadership involvement:

KHS Tennis, National Charity League, JUMP Team - Second Baptist Church
